Fast & Easy Hairstyle

We’re all a little short on time, especially in the mornings. Who has the time to try a new hairstyle between showering, picking out an outfit, doing your makeup and everything else you have to do to get ready? We’re all guilty of falling into the same routine, but switching up your hairdo doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your sleep! We’ve compiled a list of easy hairstyles to help you switch up your look in just a few minutes. The best part: they don’t require heat and work for almost any hair length.

Half-Ups

Half-up hairstyles are the easiest way to get some of that hair out of your face, without opting for a full ponytail or bun. These hairstyles look amazing on short and medium length hair but are especially useful for long hairstyles (long hair = more hair and the more hair that is out of your way the better). All you need for these simple half-up hairdos is a hairband and maybe some bobby pins and hairspray to hold it all in place. If you can pull your hair into a ponytail, create a bun, or braid, you can easily do these hairstyles!

Up-Dos

Easy up-dos are perfect for days when you either a) don’t want to do your hair, b) want your hair out of the way, or c) didn’t wash your hair. The Ariana Pony is the perfect pony for medium to long hair. Simply pull your hair in a high pony, add some volume, then wrap/pin a small section of hair around to cover the hair tie. When in doubt, throw that hair up into a messy bun, throw on your favorite cozy cardigan or sweater and call it good. The Top Knot, Side Braided Pony, and Reverse Bun Braid are the perfect hairstyles for any length of hair. Spice up any simple pony or bun by adding a simple braid.

Braided

We’ve all been braiding hair since we were 5. It started with simple braids and moved all the way to more complicated braids like fishtails and waterfall braids. Braids are an easy way to get your hair out of your face or make your hair look “done” with minimal effort. One easy trick for tight braids is to make sure your hair is slightly damp from a shower or spray bottle.

Pro tip: if you french braid or do pigtails when your hair is slightly wet, you’ll have beautiful, no heat waves when your hair drys! It’s an easy way to get multiple hairdos with minimal time and effort.

Accessories are a fast and easy way to add some spice to your hairstyle! These little beauties can be added to any of the above hairstyles for that little something extra. Try putting a bow on your ponytail to cover the hairband. Add a clip like the triangle one above to a half braided hairstyle or simply tie a bandanna in your hair like a headband (so cute with short hairstyles like a pixie cut + a leather or denim jacket) You’ll look like you did your hair without really doing your hair! The combinations are endless when it comes to accessories.

Products

Products aren’t entirely necessary, but the benefits are so worth the little time and effort they take!

SEA SALT SPRAY
If your hair has a subtle wave, sea salt spray is going to amp up those waves and really give your hair some definition. If your hair has little to no wave to it, the spray is actually going to give you a little texture and wave! You’ll look like you just spent a day at the beach when all you did was spritz some sea salt spray, crunch your hair a little, and walked out of the house in under 5 minutes.

CONDITIONING OIL
A good conditioning oil is a must! Grab your hair and feel the ends, are they dry? If so, you need oil. Are your ends actually pretty healthy? Trick question, you should still be using oil! Not only will a good conditioning oil hydrate and repair dry and damaged hair, it’s also going to strengthen and protect your beautiful locks. Apply to damp hair and again between washes to keep hair strong and silky.

HAIRSPRAY
Lastly, hairspray. Hairspray is useful for locking in heated hairstyles, but it’s also great for no heat hairstyles! We all have flyaways and baby hairs; spritz with a little hairspray to tame the strays. Having trouble getting your bobby pins to stay in place? Spray them with hairspray, allow to dry, and you’ll have grippy bobby pins that stay in place without slipping!

If these hairstyles still seem a little daunting and time consuming, try doing them in your free time! Weekends are a great time to try out a new hairstyle, plus you’ll have a little more time to really get it right. Once you feel comfortable doing a new style, work it into your morning routine once a week. You’ll love the change of pace and others are sure to notice!
